I really enjoy using Flicker. I prefer it over Google Images. I wish I had more time to just sit and "play" with it. Here is a picture of some sushi. I love sushi! Well, some of it anyway. I can't wait to have my students use the site.
Flickr has a tray system so you can select kidsafe pics for them to choose from. A lot of Flickr is not for kids as you may have noticed or assumed! You're doing fine - you can't mess anything up!
There are a bunch more fun and practical classroom ideas coming up in the 23Things. The ones my students will really like are on sites like ImageChef (Thing #10). I can think of tons of quick exposure ideas (like the Flikr and ImageChef activities) for my students, but I'm still on the lookout for a suitable classroom blog topic for 3rd graders.
